The Ying Wu College of Computing (CC) at New Jersey Institute of Technology is excited to offer classroom presentations to Junior and Senior level high schools students interested in learning about the many educational and career opportunities in computing.
Our distinguished faculty members will visit your high school and give a 30-45 minute presentation about one of the following topics:

Presenter: Marc Sequeira
Marc Sequeira asks students, “What are you passionate about?” He suggests that by leveraging computing assets to fulfill your personal interests and aspirations, you can build a career that is simultaneously creatively satisfying, intellectually challenging and financially rewarding. Computing careers offer incredible versatility, flexibility and growth potential. Marc describes how computing permeates all modern industries with detailed examples from fields such as biotechnology, national security, entertainment and business. By distinguishing between the available computing degrees and then describing the current and projected employment outlook in various computing fields, Marc provides a detailed overview of a range of computing professions. Throughout his presentation, Marc describes his own varied experience in fields where computing professionals are in high demand including: web development, network administration, mobile computing, game design and music production.
|Title: Careers in Technology
Presenter: Lori Watrous-deVersterre
Lori Watrous-deVersterre asks students, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” She suggests that knowing more about technology no matter what career decisions you make, will benefit you throughout life. Lori provides students with an overview of careers in computing, beginning with the differences between computer science, information technology, and information systems. Lori uses her own experience as a computing professional working her way through hi-tech startups and Fortune 500 companies. Through examples from her career, she attempts to show students that a career in technology can be exciting, fun, diversified, and has a direct impact on society, family and friends.
